Privacy & Safeguarding
We respect your privacy and protect children’s dignity.
When you submit an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, enquiry type, message and consent time to respond and manage your request. Access is limited to authorised administrators. Please do not send identity documents, bank statements or information identifying children through this form.
Our website uses an essential session cookie to keep forms and admin access secure. We do not add advertising or analytics cookies. External social media and map websites have their own privacy practices.
Enquiry information is reviewed and deleted when it is no longer needed. Contact villaofhope@mweb.co.za to ask about your information, request a correction or raise a privacy concern. The team will explain any retention requirements that apply.
Security records contain a keyed hash of the connecting IP address, rather than the raw address. Hosting systems may maintain their own operational logs.
We share stories with care, avoiding private details and trauma-heavy accounts. Children’s photographs and identifying information must have the appropriate consent and safeguarding review before publication. Volunteers, visitors and Host Families are subject to the organisation’s approval process.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand visits to our public website, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages through usage analytics and session recordings. These services may use cookies and process information about your device, browser and interactions.
Our administrator pages are excluded from these tools. Enquiry forms are marked for masking in Clarity, and this website does not intentionally send enquiry text, names, email addresses or phone numbers to these analytics services. Google page-view URLs exclude query strings and fragments; Clarity does not load on query-bearing page views.
For information about how these providers process data, see Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement. Contact Villa of Hope using the Contact page with privacy queries.
