Our Story
A community response that grew into a place of safety, care and belonging.
Villa of Hope began in 2003 as a social development and upliftment initiative serving Eldorado Park and surrounding communities. A neglected property on Cavendish Road became the foundation for a children’s home. The first two homes were completed in 2005.
In 2025 we had 20 renovated houses, children’s homes, office facilities, therapy rooms, a learning centre and a library. Play areas and sporting facilities give children room to learn, relax and grow.
Our vision is to reduce child abuse and neglect in surrounding communities by promoting family values. Our mission is to provide loving, attentive care that helps children develop as well-balanced individuals who can contribute to society.
A board of directors oversees the organisation. Caregivers, social workers, maintenance and support staff work together to meet children’s physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs.
Our philosophy combines respect for children’s rights, child protection and Christian values. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child.
Our logo reflects that belief: the white hand represents God’s care, yellow represents hope and positivity, and the green family represents growth, harmony and restoration. Together We Build Our Future is an invitation to share in this work.
“Together We Build Our Future.”
Our promise, and our invitation.
